On the Ball Orthotics was created by Julia Hayman in 2018. Our goal is to alleviate pain caused from improper mechanics of the foot. We understand how lower limb pain can disrupt daily life and we aim to find the best possible solution to the problem. With an on-site lab, the treatment process can be controlled from start to finish.

Adjustments are made on site and most times are completed during the appointment.

We have three footcare nurses, Amanda, Yvonne and Kelly, to help with trimming toenails and dealing with calluses.

For custom foot orthotics, we now have a satellite location in the north end at Good Wellness! We are there Tuesday’s from 4-7pm. Visit their website if you would like to book an appointment!

Julia Hayman, Pedorthist
OWNER, C. Ped (C)

Julia is the owner and resident Pedorthist at On the Ball Orthotics. She is a certified member in good standing with the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics of Canada.

Julia has been a practicing Canadian Certified Pedorthist since 2014. She has worked at and operated clinics across Canada and has treated hundreds of satisfied customers and patients.

She has treated many patients with medical conditions that can cause foot issues such as diabetes, arthritis, post-polio syndrome, cerebral palsy, and more.

Julia is a former varsity track and field athlete with the University of Western Ontario. This combined with her personal interests in volleyball, soccer, hiking, running and waterskiing gives her a unique insight into the worlds of both competitive and recreational activities and the challenges that each present.

Amanda Mooij, Footcare Nurse

Amanda helps her patient’s walk comfortably when skin and nail problems are causing pain.

After practicing as a nurse for 11 years, Amanda broadened her knowledge with diabetic footcare and advanced nursing footcare to practice as a footcare nurse. This change was to continue her passion in helping the community through health care, while still being there for her three boys.

She uses natural products to treat problems such as corns, calluses, fungus and thick nails. To maintain the results of the treatment longer, she educates her patients on how to take care of the skin and nails.

Kelly McIntyre, Footcare Nurse

Kelly was born and raised in Barrie, ON and has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She has worked in many different healthcare settings from hospitals, community, retirement homes to long term care. She has held many different positions over the years which have included Unit Supervisor, Clinical Educator, Nurse Manager and Director of Care.

After years of shift work and raising six children, Kelly was looking for a quality work/life balance where she could enjoy more time with her ever growing family. She became very aware of the need for professional footcare for residents in the community and received her Certification in Advanced Nursing Footcare as well as further education in Diabetes Footcare.

She is very excited to be offering Advanced Footcare in both the clinic and home settings. She offers a whole health care personal approach with each and every client with thorough assessments, treatments and required health teaching in order to help her clients achieve healthy feet, one foot at a time.

Yvonne Durham, Footcare Nurse

Yvonne was a nurse for 9 years, and in long term care for 8 of those years, before deciding to specialize in the footcare space. She enjoys being a footcare nurse as she finds it very rewarding!

She grew up in the Innisfil area and now lives in Barrie. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two adult children and two grandchildren, as well as kayaking and hiking in the summer. When she can, she loves to travel and meet new people!

Yvonne offers footcare in the clinic as well as mobile services.
